What exactly is Stem & Veins?

From a botanical point of view, a kratom leaf consists of three main parts: the fleshy blade (parenchyma), the supporting stem, and an intricate network of veins. To create regular kratom, the stems and veins are removed. And it is precisely from this carefully separated material – the so-called leftovers from green kratom – that our S&V is created. In the homeland of kratom, alternative names such as Tulang or Leaf Bone are often used for these parts of the plant. Due to the origin of the material, S&V has characteristic physical properties:

• Color: The green is not as bright and rich as in the main product. The powder is rather more faded, earthier, and sometimes even transitions into slightly brownish shades.
• Texture: Although the material is perfectly ground and easily soluble, its structure is naturally slightly coarser and grainier than classic powder.

How does S&V differ from regular kratom?

The reason why S&V has such a huge fan base lies in its unique biochemistry. The main alkaloids that give classic kratom its renowned strength (mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine) are found in much smaller quantities in the stems. Instead, S&V is rich in antagonistic alkaloids, such as corynantheidine, mitraphylline, and rhynchophylline. What does this mean in practice?

• It is ideal for users for whom regular kratom is too intensive or aggressive.
• Collectors often use it to "balance" or dilute stronger strains.
• It is perfectly suited as an alternative ingredient for homemade soaps and natural cosmetics.

We do not grow our kratom in anonymous large-scale factories. It comes from the extremely nutrient-rich soil of West Borneo. This region offers the perfect microclimate for the growth of the strongest trees. We are deeply committed to sustainability. By producing Stem & Veins, we apply the idea of zero-waste – we use the full potential of the tree so that none of its sacred power goes to waste.

In addition, we maintain close, personal relationships with our farmers. We regularly visit this wild area and oversee the production. Fair trade allows local communities not only to preserve a centuries-old tradition, but the finances from exports also directly help with the construction of local schools and infrastructure.

Sustainability and the processing method

Our commitment to sustainability means that nothing must go to waste. The processing of S&V is a shining example of the zero-waste philosophy. How does the whole process work?

• Waiting for maturity: The trees (here specifically the strain producing green kratom) grow large and healthy leaves. Farmers wait until the veining indicates perfect maturity, and only then do they start a gentle harvest so that the plant can continue to grow.
• Careful separation: Skilful gatherers remove the supporting stems and firm veins (S&V) from the leaves.
• Sun-drying: The material is dried using the traditional method under the hot sun of Southeast Asia.
• Processing and grinding: While the leaves turn into a fine premium powder, the separated stems and veins (S&V) are processed into their own final form.
